Journey 1
August 20, 2000
Our first journey was August 20th, 2000 for a 13-year-old with Ewing
Sarcoma (cancer). He went through chemo treatments and then went into
remission. The cancer came back and he was treated again and went through
a bone marrow transplant. The transplant caused him to go into remission,
but he relapsed in September of 2000. Currently, he is going through more
treatments.
We provided him with a fly-fishing journey. Renegade Outfitters donated
the trip, taking him for a whole day fly-fishing and teaching him how
to read the river. He caught lots of fish, and had a great time. On their
walk back to the car they came across a herd of elk that were very close
to them. This just made the day even better. This young man has since
died. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
