Journey 26
Dec. 12 - 16th, 2006
A White Tail Deer hunt was provided to a 10 year old who is
fighting Hodgkins Disease. We were able to make this hunt possible with
the help of many special people who went out of their way to make this a
special time for the boy and his father. We thank them all for their
help. John Hoose of Fort Whitetail Ranch donated a guided white tail
hunt. Jim Calvier from Jim's Hunting Help made all the plans; before,
during and after and also acted as chauffeur and tour guide during their
stay. Not only was this young man able to get the white tail buck he
had come for, he was also fortunate enough to see many wild turkeys, and
elk. He made side trips to the Whitetail Hall of Fame Museum and was
personally guided around the University of Michigan and their Athletic
Department and fields. He met and was interviewed by a freelance writer,
Michael Veine who was able to have an article published in the February
2007 edition of Woods-N-Water News. The article is located on pages 70
and 71. After the hunt this young man told his father this was the best
day of his life! They had a very special time.
