Josh, an 18 year old young man from Littleton, Colorado was
diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in July of 2014. He enjoys camping and
fishing, especially fly fishing and wanted an adventure outside of his home
state of Colorado.
We
joined forces with Butch Manasse at Butch Manasse Outdoor Adventures and
Bill Perry at Hidden Creek Outfitters who designed a horseback camping and
fishing expedition on the wonderful Thorofare River outside of Yellow National
Park.
After a 4 hour horseback
ride to the camp site, Josh and his father Mark spent a week camping on the
Thorofare River, fishing
multiple locations throughout the area, and enjoying the great outdoors of
Wyoming. This letter from Josh says it all.
Joseph's
Journey
I want
to start by saying a big thank you to you and all the Joseph Journey
organization, without you, kids like me wouldn't have the great opportunity to
the things we love most in life. The trip to Cody was a great experience and I
would do it again in a heartbeat. I got to do things like horseback riding in such
a beautiful land, to catching some of the biggest, toughest fish I could have
ever dream of. The four hour ride in on a horseback brought me a connection to
an animal I've loved and now appreciate. At camp we had a great setup. The
tents were big, the outfitters were great, friendly people, and the food was
amazing. The best part of all though, was the incredible fishing me and my dad
got to experience. We'd go out every day and slay them until we got sick of it!
Without such a loving organization like Josephs Journey none of this would have
been possible, words can't express how much I thank you for the journey.
Thank
You,
Josh
